   All of these carvings are of Loons and all of them, except for two, have been made for my Aunt who you could say is 'Looney' for loons.  I've made one almost every Christmas for her and each year I some how come up with something new.  We'll have to see what I come up with next year.  The dog in the picture below is our Beagle - Lucy Brown.  She is a real sweet heart.  All of the loons  are  carved in Basswood and painted in water base acrylics.
 
 

 

 

"Thanksgiving Loon"  

     This is a Thanksgiving Loon for a friend who is crazy about Loons.  It is 9" long and 6 " high.  It is made of Tupelo wood and painted in water based acrylics.    The loon resides in Wisconsin.  (September 2012 )

 
 

"Easter Loon" 

 

This is an Easter Loon I made for a friend in Wisconsin.  The carving is 7" tall, carved in Tupelo wood, and painted in water base acrylics. (May 2012) 

"Halloween Loon II"    

I made this for a good friend who lives in Janesville, WI.   This is a brown hair, blue eyed boy dressed in a Loon Halloween custom, who is actually trick or treating fish for his loon.  This carving is 9" tall and carved in basswood. (Feb 2011)

This a "Loon Box" which I made for my Aunt for Christmas.  The box is 4.5" x 9" x 3.5" high and made of oak.  The top is two swimming loons carved in basswood.  (Dec 2009) 

This a snowman loon who I made for an admirer in Wisconsin.  This carving stands 8" tall and is made of basswood.  (Dec 2009)
